PRE-GOLD MASTER STAGE COMPLETE

April 28, 2022

Pre-Gold wraps up the majority of the design process, with three functional bosses with unique attack patterns, refining in-game lighting, an intro cutscene, providing extra functionality to the dash feature with immunity frames to provide more complexity to high-projectile count combat, and the final push towards all art assets being finalized.

BETA STAGE COMPLETE

April 7, 2022

Beta defined the core flow of the game from entry to levels to defeating bosses with more complicated attack patterns than standard enemies. Rewards to the player in the form of more weapon/attack options unlocked throughout the game as they complete challenges. Lighting and more art assets implementation of the player, environment, and enemies to add more gloomy atmospheric feel.

PRE-BETA STAGE COMPLETE

March 24, 2022

Pre-beta saw the refinement of Projectile behavior from adding animations to redefining colliders and moving to pre-loaded assets. The finalization of the second world’s layout and tilemap. Implementation of Dialog with NPCs, including voice lines, dialog boxes, and character dialog sprites.

ALPHA STAGE COMPLETE

March 1, 2022

Alpha took the first steps towards moving from placeholder art assets to assets provided by the Art Designer, including the prototype player model for Melody and redesigns of enemies. A rough Dash feature implemented to provide more mobility to the player. Expanding enemy attack patterns through projectile speed, attack cooldowns, and positioning.

PRE-ALPHA STAGE COMPLETE!

February 15, 2022

Pre-Alpha provided the layout for a lot of the base features of Harmony Overture, including a primary player weapon, basic enemy movement and attack AI, and player-environment interaction. Assets are primarily placeholders.
